CDChoices is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team.
Job Summary
The Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data for the formulation of the annual budget and performing financial forecasting, scenario analysis, and statistical analysis to support the financial planning of the organization. This position will prepare and maintain metric-driven financial models used to forecast and evaluate agency and program profitability. The Financial Analyst will ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial models, budgets, and forecasts. This position will also work with the department’s internal systems to perform ongoing maintenance and process optimization.
Responsibilities
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the annual budget process including providing the underlying rationale and conducting budget variance analysis using statistical analysis, complex multi-year forecasting models, and data. Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather inputs, analyze financial data, and develop accurate and achievable budgets. Evaluate and plan the budgets for each department, providing managers with valuable analysis. Monitor and update forecasts regularly, ensuring alignment with business goals and market conditions.
- Perform budget vs actual variance analysis to help create realistic budgets and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Lead the forecasting, long-term planning, implementation, and strategic business analysis.
- Create and maintain comprehensive financial forecast models and forecasts utilizing P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement information to support the organization's strategic planning and operational decision-making processes. Conduct financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting, and communicate results to ensure efficient financial operations. Review analysis results and develop insightful investment, sourcing, and cost reduction suggestions.
- Perform data mining to create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and utilize the data for financial models, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Collect data and track company fiscal performance using internal systems and worksheets, and present data in charts, graphs, and tables for internal and external use including Committee meetings and Board meetings.
- Support the senior leadership’s decision-making process by completing special projects, including but not limited to: Mergers and Acquisitions: identifying potential acquisition targets, due diligence analysis, integration, and divestitures. Process Optimization: identifying workflow inefficiency that arises from technical systems and tools. Market Research: when appropriate, provide information to senior leadership to determine the size of a given market and potential opportunities in which the agency may have a competitive advantage. Capital Allocation: determining how much and what the agency's capital should be spent.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
- 3+ years of financial analysis experience.
- SQL experience highly preferred.
The ideal candidate will have superior attention to detail and excellent organizational, time-management, and project management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently as well as collaboratively as a member of a team. Must be able to perform standard and complex statistical calculations.
