REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
STATUS: Exempt, salaried, full-time
LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois, (currently hybrid remote/in-office schedule)
SALARY RANGE: $82,340 to $130,060 (commensurate with experience).

Position Summary:
The Director of Finance will implement the financial strategies of our high-impact, innovative, and growing organization. If you are a hands-on leader who is passionate about our mission, financial stewardship, team building, and operational excellence, this is a role for you.
The Director of Finance will report to the Chief Financial (CFO), will interact regularly with senior leadership, will be leading a team of twelve, and will oversee a $75 million budget. All Chicago promotes the use of technology in all areas of operations and currently utilizes Financial Edge, AvidXchange, Salesforce, and the Microsoft Office Suite for its accounting, accounts payable, and grant management functions.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Financial Management – Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to build and refine financial operations and develop and implement financial policies and procedures.

Financial Reporting – Oversee the monthly and annual financial report preparation and analysis.

Team Management – Lead and develop the finance team through effective project management, delegation, review, and coaching.

Grants Management – Evaluate and monitor the financial performance and compliance of our many grants and subrecipients.

Budgeting – Develop budgets for our grants and oversee the annual agency budgeting process.

Audit and Compliance – Organize the annual agency audit process and several governmental compliance audits which occur throughout the year. Develop and monitor effective and efficient financial controls and policies in compliance with Uniform Guidance.

Treasury – Manage the cash resources of the organization.

Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to preventing and ending homelessness in Chicago and will have the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Progressive experience in financial leadership, ideally in a nonprofit environment.

CPA a plus.

Strong technical aptitude and experience with enterprise accounting systems. Experience with Financial Edge, AvidXchange, and Salesforce is a plus.

Knowledge of Uniform Guidance is a plus.

Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and the Teams Environment or related software
