Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic
Integrity Medical Transportation, LLC provides Basic Life Support and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation. We are seeking an experienced, competent and capable Paramedic to respond to medical emergencies, conduct on-scene evaluations, render patient care and, when necessary, administer advanced level of life support, document and effectively communicate observations and treatments to physicians, Emergency Department staff, and associated facilities.
Credentialing & Experience:
- Texas Paramedic License
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate
- Successful completion of EMT or Paramedic course
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) within six (6) months of hire
· Experience with Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) transports including IV Pump, Ventilator, and Cardiac Monitoring
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Current Texas EMT-P certification license
- Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) recommended
- 1 year as a paramedic in hospital setting; 2 years’ experience as EMT-P preferred
Paramedic Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor communication equipment to ensure contact with dispatcher
- Follow instructions from dispatcher and safely navigate emergency vehicles to locations
- Respond to all calls prepared, presentable, and with a professional manner
- Assess the nature and extent of injury or illness and administer basic life support on-scene and while enroute to hospitals or care facilities
- Rescue victims of accidents, sudden illness or entrapment using proper rescue and medical techniques
- Communicate observations and treatments to doctors and all medical personnel to further advance necessary patient care and treatment
- Provide effective leadership and mentorship to company staff and colleagues
- Complete all applicable patient care, insurance, and evaluation forms in a competent and timely fashion
- Maintain proper order, cleanliness, inventory, and serviceability of company vehicles, equipment, and supplies
- Properly represent the company while both on and off duty, in public and private settings
- Performing any other duty related to Integrity Medical Transportation LLC as designated by Management.
Privacy Obligations:
- Paramedic must be in acceptable physical shape to properly perform job-related duties which includes standing, sitting, and bending for extensive periods of time in addition to physically lifting and assisting patients onto stretchers to include bariatric patients
- Paramedic is expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with Company policies and procedures and as required by applicable state and federal law
- Paramedic may access protected health information only to the extent to render necessary care and to complete job related duties.
- Paramedic may only share patient information with those medical professionals directly involved in rendering patient care
- Paramedic will actively participate in privacy training and uphold Company policies
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Possess a valid Texas driver’s license
- Successful completion of EMT-B or EMT-IV course of study
- Current State Paramedic Certification/License
- Basic IV: 2 years
- American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and/or American Heart Association BCLS certification and/or ASHI CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- Graduation from a state-approved program by the state of issuance of license or certified EMT or Paramedic
- Two (2) years of experience in Emergency Medical Services (preferred)
- High school diploma or GED
- Background check verification
