Responsibilities:
- Manage daily transportation activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective inbound and outbound shipments.
- Tender loads to multiple carriers to secure competitive freight costs while maintaining high service standards.
- Coordinate closely with sales, purchasing, and production teams to ensure accurate and timely shipping.
- Maintain detailed records of all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from customers and suppliers regarding shipment status.
- Schedule and weigh inbound and outbound loads, ensuring accuracy and issuing Bills of Lading (B/L) for outgoing shipments.
- Inspect customer orders before shipping and review inbound shipping documents for accuracy.
- Review, validate, and code freight bills associated with inbound and outbound shipments.
- Coordinate export containers with ocean carriers and trucking companies as required.
- Manage the delivery and release of incoming rail cars.
- Track urgent shipments and communicate estimated delivery dates/times to relevant parties.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding pick-up dates and manage contracted trucking companies.
- Provide logistical support to other company locations and assist in problem resolution.
- Participate actively in company quality and safety initiatives.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:
- Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Other Skills: Basic visual quality inspection skills; strong knowledge of inventory control systems preferred. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Outlook, Excel, and Access.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required. Minimum of three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and respond to inquiries at various organizational levels.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to talk and listen.
- Must navigate the plant and racking systems safely.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to extreme heat.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, and airborne particles.
- Environment typically has high noise levels.

Pay: $50,314.82 - $70,959.78 per year
