Social Emotional Learning CoordinatorWest Springfield Public SchoolsWest Springfield Public Schools is hiring a Social Emotional Learning Coordinator. This position will support the districts implementation of tiered interventions and the Instructional Support Team (IST) process and will work directly with school and program administrators as well as collaborate with the Chief of Instruction and Elementary Education, Director of Multilingual Learners, Director of Student Services, and Director of Health Services on planning, implementation, and evaluation of district initiatives.The SEL Coordinator supports the district strategic plan in relation to social-emotional learning and behavioral support. Assists with the design and implementation of the social-emotional learning curriculum, standards, instruction, and assessment, delivers and supports professional development for staff, is a lead support to instructional coaches and interventionists and a teammate to mental health support staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social-emotional learning across all tiers and experience with curriculum design and proficiency-based learning.
The candidate will have demonstrated mastery of proactive and responsive intervention that supports student engagement, differentiation, and inclusion. The candidate must have experience facilitating a framework to support positive behaviors. This position will be responsible for the following: -Monitor Attendance/Truancy and collaborate with the District Attendance Supervisor-Facilitate monthly counselor supervision meetings at the elementary and middle school levels-Collect, analyze, and manage data related to outcomes assigned in the strategic plan-Collaborate with the Director of Instruction and Elementary Education on the development of professional learning-Manage the counseling budget in collaboration with the Chief of Community Relations and Educational Services-Oversee any mental health or community support contracts for the district-Support district protocols regarding mental health hospital placements and transitions-Work in conjunction with the Student Services Director to assess and meet Tier 3 SEL/Behavior intervention both in and out of district placements-Support district crisis protocols and responses in coordination with building-based teams, administrators, and directors-Support building-based teams with the implementation of SEL curriculums-Facilitate universal screening, school climate, and SWIS-Support writing, data collection, and evaluation of assigned entitlement grant projects-Support implementation of, professional development, and coaching for all SEL-tiered interventions, culturally responsive training, and PBIS implementation for the district in line with the district strategic plan-Collaborate with the district and building MTSS teams-Provide clinical consultation as neededQualifications: DESE Adjustment Counselor/School Psychologist LicenseDESE Supervisor, Director, or Administrator License Minimum of five (5) years working in school mental healthExperience working with community supportsReports to: Chief of Community Relations and Educational ServicesFunding Source: Grant Contract: Independent Contract, Work year is 210 days Salary: $92,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience
