JOB GOAL
The Early Education Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and support to early education programs, ensuring high-quality early childhood education, and fostering a safe, nurturing, and effective learning environment for young children.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
o Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
o Experience in early childhood education setting (preferred)
o Master’s degree (preferred)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools.
o Obtains Danielson certification within 3 months of the first day in the assignment
o Coordinates the development and implementation of early childhood curriculum and instructional programs.
o Provides ongoing support and professional development to early education teachers.
o Observes and evaluates early education classrooms to ensure high-quality teaching practices and adherence to curriculum standards.
o Oversees curricular and assessment activities for special programs, including SPED, Dyslexia, Section 504, ESL, and GT
o Leads and facilitates data meetings focused on early childhood student assessments and performance.
o Coordinates with district personnel, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth transition for students entering early education programs.
o Communicates effectively with parents and key stakeholders regarding early education programs and student progress.
o Collaborates with community organizations to enhance early education resources and opportunities.
o Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations related to early childhood education.
o Develops and implements strategies to support early childhood student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
o Establishes guidelines for proper student conduct and implements disciplinary procedures and policies that ensure a safe and orderly environment in early education classrooms.
o Coordinates with district personnel, parents and staff planning for an orderly school opening.
o Monitors the school grounds actively for safety checks.
o Monitors early childhood program budgets and resources, ensuring efficient and effective use of funds.
o Oversees daily attendance in early education programs.
o Oversees child nutrition programs for early education students and ensures they are implemented according to regulations.
o Manages the purchasing process for early education supplies and resources, following HPS purchasing guidelines.
o Prepares, approves, and submits monthly payroll change forms for early education staff.
o Reviews paystubs and timesheets for early education employees for each pay period.
o Assists program leadership in developing the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) for early education.
o Ensures timely completion of work orders for building and ground maintenance related to early education facilities.
o Encourages campus-wide fundraising activities to support early education programs.
o Prepares reports and presentations on early education program performance and initiatives.
o Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops to stay abreast of current trends and developments in early childhood education.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
o Thorough knowledge of curriculum, assessments, instructional practices, classroom management, school culture, social-emotional learning programs, district policies, and procedures
o Ability to receive, internalize, and implement feedback from multiple sources
o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
o Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.
o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
o Moderate travel is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $61,289.00 - $95,564.00 per year
