Position Title: Setup Technician- Packaging
Reporting into Title: Production Supervisor
Position Purpose/Summary: The Setup Technician is responsible for the maintenance of machinery and equipment, to include troubleshooting machinery errors.

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.

Add, remove and adjust packaging machinery, such as case erector, and date code machinery, to run various sizes of product and packaging production lines.

Troubleshoot machine and auxiliary equipment problems, during setup/change-over, and make necessary changes to ensure quality and reduce downtime

Organizing change parts and maintaining areas as directed by management to facilitate rapid changeovers.

Promote safety by abiding by all related policies and procedures and set a good example for others

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities
Education: Technical Degree or equivalent educational/military experience
Experience :
-
1 – 3 yrs. prior Setup/Change-Over Technician experience
-
Secondary Packaging Machine experience strongly preferred

Strong mechanical aptitude
Technology/Software: Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word & Excel
Communication: Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful.
Physical Capabilities
Strength: Must be able to regularly lift 55 lbs.
Movement: Must be able to stand / walk for an entire eight hour shift. Occasional bending, crouching, and crawling
Hearing: Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment
Vision: Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view computer screen regularly
