About the Role (job title and summary):
The Brand Manager drives brand strategy for The Botanist and Superflux. They develop and execute strategic initiatives that bring these brands to life, shaping their identities and guiding customers through a seamless path to purchase across all Retail & Wholesale touchpoints. This is a highly collaborative role that works in conjunction with the Director of Brand Strategy and Sr. Wholesale Marketing Manager, and in close partnership with Creative Services, Product Marketing, Digital Marketing, state Retail & Wholesale teams, and Compliance.
How you’ll make a difference (required duties and responsibilities):
BRAND STRATEGY /MANAGEMENT & BRAND EXPERIENCE CREATION:

Develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies across multiple states, ensuring brand consistency with regional relevance.

Conduct market research to understand consumer trends, analyze competitors, and identify new growth opportunities.

Oversee brand messaging and ensure all marketing materials (packaging, advertising, social media) are compliant with state regulations and effectively communicate brand identity.

Manage brand budget and develop strategies to maximize marketing ROI.

Design and implement engaging brand experiences across all customer touchpoints (physical dispensaries, online platforms, social media).

Collaborate with internal teams (Retail, Product, Digital, Creative Services) to ensure brand alignment across all channels.

Identify and implement innovative strategies to elevate the customer experience at retail (internal & external).

Act as a brand steward, upholding brand and trademark standards and consistency in all projects
INDUSTRY & COMPLIANCE KNOWLEDGE:
-
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and competitor activity to inform brand strategy and ensure compliance.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts (digital & traditional) to secure positive brand exposure (within compliance limitations).

Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure all brand activities adhere to state regulations.
PLAYBOOK DEVELOPMENT:

Collaborate on the creation of comprehensive (living) playbooks for:
- Pop-up Events (Retail & Wholesale) to amplify National Campaigns & Launches
-
Grassroots Activations
-
Local Event Sponsorships & Activations (including guerilla tactics)
-
Product Sampling SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)
- These playbooks will outline best practices, logistics, and success metrics for each initiative.
SWAG & MERCH MANAGEMENT:

Manage the ordering and distribution of branded merchandise (swag) for both retail & wholesale pop-up events. Collaborate with Creative Resources and Brand Manager to develop brand accurate items.

Ensure timely procurement and accurate inventory control for all swag items.
DATA & REPORTING:

Develop and implement effective methods to track the success of brand experience campaigns (e.g., brand awareness, engagement, sales).

Analyze results and use data to optimize future brand experience initiatives.

Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform national (& local) marketing decisions.
Skills to be Successful (minimum qualifications):
-
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in brand management, marketing, or a related field, with 2+ years focused on customer experience.

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful brand strategies and customer experience initiatives.
-
Strong understanding of cannabis consumer demographics, preferences, and buying habits.
-
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills.
A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to compliant marketing practices within the cannabis industry.

COMPUTERS AND TECHNOLOGY:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, marketing software (CRM, analytics platforms), and content management systems (CMS) a plus.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe and various software tools
Highly skilled and knowledgeable about social media platforms, digital marketing and engagement

Ability to travel to multiple locations as necessary; must have reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to pass state & federal CORI background check
