Job Requirements
Patient Services:
- Welcome and greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Register new patients, collect necessary information, and assist with the completion of required forms.
- Schedule patient appointments, ensuring accuracy and alignment with clinic protocols.
- Answer incoming calls, address inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with insurance verification and ensure that patients' insurance information is up-to-date.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to manage patient flow and minimize wait times.
- Handle patient payments, provide receipts, and maintain accurate payment records.
- Manage patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist with general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and maintaining office supplies.
- Keep up with receptionists spreadsheets and enter data as required.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated with healthcare regulations and ensure strict adherence within the clinic.
- Implement and enforce HIPAA guidelines to safeguard patient privacy.
Communication and Coordination:
- Serve as a liaison between patients, clinical staff, and management, facilitating effective communication.
- Communicate appointment changes and cancellations to patients as necessary.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to address patient inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Assist with the coordination of referrals and authorizations as required.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service by actively listening to patients' needs and providing timely assistance.
- Display empathy and professionalism when dealing with patients, addressing their concerns with care and respect.
- Strive to create a positive patient experience by anticipating and fulfilling their needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required (associate's degree preferred).
- Prior experience in a medical or healthcare setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in computers and using computer software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Outpatient clinic office setting.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
