What Will You Do?
The Program Supervisor is responsible for daily operational oversight and performance of the Vaya-Thompson Placement Stability Unit (TPSU) in Buncombe & Jackson counties. The Program Supervisor will lead a team of professionals focused on supporting youth in DSS Custody who either have a history of placement instability, are in an unstable placement, or meet specific criteria indicating a high risk for future placement instability. Success will be primarily measured through three core data points: financial performance data, staff retention/engagement data, and program outcomes/quality data.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Proactive coaching and feedback to ensure professional development and growth of direct reports
-
Setting programmatic objectives, defining roles, and prioritizing tasks for direct reports

Effective proactive communication in all directions (up, down, sideways) to ensure program needs are met

Recruit, interview and selection of top tier talent for their program staff

Conduct thorough and well-documented assessments of direct reports performance
-
Proactively address performance issues and replace team members who consistently fall short of delivering on their objectives

Create an open and trusting environment where teamwork and collaboration is valued

Compliance with the agency Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process to ensure program data and outcome goals are met

Ensure internal and external standards are met regarding records, documentation and general services provided
-
Act as a role model across the organization for other staff regarding professionalism, positivity and teamwork

Respond and address to any client/parent/guardian complains/concerns
-
Serve as a liaison among Thompson, Vaya, Buncombe and Jackson DSS, and other essential stakeholders.

Ensure services are provided in accordance with the TPSU four-phase model.

Provide a comprehensive suite of service that include 24/7 on-call coverage.

Requirements:
What qualifications do you need?
Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards as it pertains to the program(s) they lead. Education requirements for a leader of others in programs is a master’s degree. Supervisory experience preferred.
As a Leader of Others, this role’s minimum qualifications are:

Verified 3 years of work experience as a high performing individual contributor in Child Welfare or related Human Services field.

Master’s degree with active full or provisional licensure status required in NC in one of the following: LMFT, LPA, LCSW or Licensed Psychologist

Exposure to leadership/management experiences either through short term project management, coordination, training or actual leadership positions
-
Displays the capacity/coachability for future growth and development as a leader an advanced degree in social work or a comparable human service field and two years of post-master's degree experience working with children and families, preferably in family preservation and stabilization
-
Must live in geographic area to fulfill in-person engagement responsibilities as well as training & development with staff
