JJOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation and issuance of monthly project AIA pay applications to owners/owner's reps. This includes presentation of scheduled values; review of project budgets and job cost; billing approved subcontractor costs; holding/billing retention per contract; and billing labor, general conditions, overhead and fee. The process also includes preparing appropriate contractor sworn statements and contractor conditional and unconditional waivers as required by the contract. The accountant works closely with the project managers, subcontractors, accounting manager and project coordinators.
- Processing of all subcontractor payables which includes posting approved invoices to job cost; allocating and releasing retainage; and issuing payments to subcontractors upon funding - including all related aspects - approved subcontracts and revisions, and subcontractor waivers and sworn statements.
- Posting all project general conditions invoices, payment of invoices, and job overhead costs.
- Monthly review of job costs reports and project financial reports for accuracy and alignment with budget; make corrections and updates as directed by project managers. Prepare final budget reports upon job completion.
- Enter budgets for new projects as provided by the estimating department.
- Enter approved owner contract change orders.
- Other accounting duties as directed by the Manager of Project Accounting.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years minimum in construction industry in project controls related experience. Bachelors degree may substitute for an equivalent numbers of years of experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify relevant issues and propose effective solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft software, including Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel and SharePoint
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside the company.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
