The Assistant/Associate Director of Sports Medicine’s primary responsibilities include the practice of the art of athletic training within the realm of intercollegiate athletics at Boston College. This includes potential work with the 750+ student athletes participating on 31 intercollegiate teams. Concurrent contact with the respective coaches, athletic administrators and other staff serving the 31 teams is expected.
Duties include the evaluation, care and prevention of athletic injuries, on-site care of athletes at practices and competitions, both home and away, medical documentation, working with University Health Services, consulting physicians and other medical clinicians. Duties may also include carrying out various administrative tasks as assigned, possibly being; facility maintenance, equipment testing & maintenance, computer database & medical software maintenance, pre-participation documentation collection & clearance, staff scheduling, and inventory/ordering of supplies.
This position requires someone to be responsible for the care, prevention and treatment of athletic injuries for student-athletes involved with intercollegiate athletics.

Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:
- Assistant Director: 3-5 years of experience - $60,680 - $75,850
- Associate Director: 5+ years of experience - $70,520 - $88,150
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required, preferably in allied health discipline.
- National Athletic Trainer’s Association BOC Certification.
- Massachusetts Allied Health Athletic Trainers Licensure.
- 2 years full time experience/immersion as a certified athletic trainer at the collegiate level.
