***Please include a cover letter with your response. No cover letter = no response***
Job Description:
Ultimately, the job is twofold: To take detailed photos of equipment showing the product and any imperfections the equipment may possess and package/ship our product. Specifically, we need a dedicated, reliable person to:
● Carefully unbox equipment
● Prep the product: clean it, removing any dust, smudges, fingerprints, etc. that may be present
● Photograph the product and ensure photography standards are being met
● Carefully repackage and box the equipment
● Record the weight and dimensions of each box
● Restock the equipment and move onto the next item
● Basic computer and typing skills
● Warehouse Shipping and Receiving
● Able to handle a fair amount of weight – a strong back and proper lifting technique is important!
● Help around the warehouse with anything and everything
This job can be hard work (heavy lifting required as you move equipment) and someone who has a great eye for detail and a methodical, steady approach would do well. If you enjoy using a camera and taking pics of some of the most amazing audio gear in the world on a daily basis, you will enjoy this position.
Our photographers do more than just take pretty pictures (although our photos really are beautiful). They play an integral role in the success of our online presence. are tasked with boxing and unboxing valuable, heavy and often fragile equipment from rolling racks onto the photography table. Once the product is unboxed, then we clean it and make sure that any dust, smudges, fingerprints, and other cleanable debris is taken care of before taking crisp, clean high-resolution photos that are viewed by customers worldwide.
Once the photos are taken, the product must be carefully repackaged to survive shipment. Our photographers are generally the last people to touch the equipment before it’s ultimately shipped to a customer, and admittedly, one of the most challenging parts of this position is re-packaging and stocking the gear after photographs have been taken. This is where familiarity with audio gear is helpful and great attention to detail is a must. If it’s not put away correctly, it could be damaged in shipping. And it’s important to record the weight and dimensions of each box before it’s stocked in the warehouse with a correct shelf location in our system.
All of this encompasses the daily job of a TMR “photographer.” The folks already on this team are dedicated professionals who work well together - it’s a great team. You can wear headphones (and get a great discount on them!), talk with coworkers as you work, or just focus on working quickly but conscientiously from one piece of gear to the next. In between, there’s a little deskwork involved - some product research, photo-editing or marketing projects. It’s a fun team, and their work is what makes our website so fun to browse. This position also requires cross-training in our shipping department.
Requirements:
● Photography: 1 year preferred but not required. Photo hobbyists are welcome.
● Prior experience of some sort – warehouse, receiving, shipping, etc.
● Strong visual attention to detail, an eye for consistency & able to manipulate lighting gear
● Able to handle a fair amount of weight - a strong back and proper lifting technique is important!
● Basic computer and typing skills
● Adaptable to changes
● Able to learn and ask questions
