Efficiently perform a variety of assembly duties. Follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision on less complicated and repetitive tasks. Mechanical aptitude and with an attention to detail is required. Work with a moderate amount of assistance and supervision on more complex assignments.
Equipment to be assembled includes, but is not limited to, plain and motorized reels, CM bases, EZ bases, Press pals, CM45 masts, CM60 masts, LDTRs, SC1 through SC3 scrap choppers, CWP straighteners, threading tables, series B, all sizes, series C all sizes, Servo feeds, Servomatics, Servomax feeds, SMXH feeds; install valves, switches, gauges, hoses. Wire motors, valves, pumps, install cylinders, chains, sprockets, belts, pulleys: align shafts.
Work from drawings, specifications, sketches and parts list using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, calipers, etc.
Perform a sequence of assembly operations, in an expeditious manner, requiring the proper selection, alignment, positioning and fastening of machined parts such as bases, castings, bearings, rollers, plates, blocks, braces, housings, gears, spacers, adjustment screws, feeds and rolls etc. Assemble parts in proper sequence using presses, blocks, clamps, braces, hoists and fasteners to ensure proper positioning.
Align, adjust, fit, deburr and clean and adjust as required. Attach pressure gauges and make connections in pipe, hose and tubing. Mount motors and make electrical connections. Use hand and machine tools to perform operations as required to assemble units. Check and inspect completed units for proper functioning making necessary corrections and adjustments. Assist in the training of other personnel to improve technical proficiency and safety. Exercise care to prevent damage, waste and scrap maintaining both high quality and quantity standards.
Detect faulty operations and defective material. Refer questionable cases to the supervisor. Maintain the area, tools and equipment in the proper manner. Follow standard safety regulations.
Maintain an assortment of personal tools as appropriate.
Perform these and other duties as required or directed.
