SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading one (1) Extrusion Line Team to meet and exceed production goals for up time and scrap. This position requires considerable leadership and judgment utilizing equipment, process and personnel to accomplish these goals. The Line Leader is responsible for strict adherence to established process, set-up and run parameters and proper documentation of deviations to established procedures. Requires a thorough knowledge of all extruding equipment and tooling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Makes adjustments of equipment, tools and processes; confers with appropriate personnel; makes recommendations concerning solutions to problems, to maintain or improve process stability.
Analyzes scrap and defect reports and implements corrective action.
Participate in training personnel in the proper techniques and process settings to run jobs
Analyzes and evaluates customer issues and resolves same.
Interface with the machine shop, maintenance, project engineering, production team members and the quality department.
Responsible for leading one (1) extrusion line team.
Organize, coordinate and verify line changeovers using set up checklist.
Direct team members on line.
Responsible for line quality and instituting stop loss procedures.
Insure daily preventative maintenance/housekeeping tasks are completed.
Identify potential improvement opportunities.
Insure line is complying with all QS900 procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Line Leader will be responsible for leading and directing the line crew.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Good problem solving skills are required. Able to use product gauges and measuring instruments including scales, comparator and verniers. Good aptitude and the ability to work with power tools. Understands fit and function of end product and can make recommendations regarding quality of product. Flexibility in work hours is needed to accommodate production schedules and work through difficult process problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a two-year college or technical school degree; or equivalent job experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively about line processes to customers and other Hutchinson personnel. Good verbal communication skills with co-workers
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. ShopVue

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud

Pay: $19.78 - $22.54 per hour
