Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Oncologist to join our East Hawaii Cancer Center to provide telehealth services. This position offers the unique opportunity to provide high-quality oncology care to patients remotely, utilizing telemedicine technology. The ideal candidate should be comfortable utilizing telemedicine and support the idea of leveraging telehealth to improve access to cancer care. They should be Patient Care Team focused and provide evidence-based, patient-centered treatment.
Responsibilities:

Conduct virtual consultations with oncology patients via telemedicine platform alongside onsite APRN and established Patient Care Team.

Review patient medical histories, diagnostic test results, and imaging studies remotely.

Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their primary care providers.

Prescribe medications, infusions, order laboratory tests/imaging and coordinate follow-up care as needed.

Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about their cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and supportive care resources.

Utilize telehealth technology to facilitate multidisciplinary team meetings and consultations with other healthcare providers.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of telehealth oncology services.

Participate in the monthly Tumor Board meetings.
Qualifications:

Medical degree from an accredited medical school.

Board certification or board eligibility in Medical Oncology

Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience practicing oncology.

Experience using telemedicine technology

Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based oncology practices.

Excellent communication skills and ability to establish rapport with patients remotely.

Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a virtual setting.

Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
Licensure Requirement: Unrestricted license to practice in the state of Hawaii, DEA, and Hawaii Controlled Substance (can be obtained upon hire)
