Director of Facilities
Reports To: Deputy Superintendent
Contract: Administrative - 230
Position Purpose
The Director of Facilities is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the facilities and maintenance department to insure the smooth operation for all buildings. The Director will plan, lead, manage, direct and guide maintenance staff and collaborate with the Deputy Superintendent and CFO to allocate funding so that all District facilities represent excellence.
Essential Functions
- Oversee daily operations of maintenance department for the district.
- Provide direction, coordination, and leadership for maintenance staff.
- Work cooperatively with employees outside the facilities department to develop a mutually supportive relationship in the care and maintenance of district facilities.
- Implement systems to manage facilities workflows from the identification of a needed repair, to completion of work and assessment of building administrator satisfaction.
- Oversee facilities rental processes.
- Maintain open communication with District partners and government agencies.
- Direct in-house and outsourced efforts to prepare facilities for re-opening after weather event or disaster, including ice and snow storms.
- Oversee all self-performed facilities projects in the district and act as the district liaison between architects and contractors for all other district facilities projects.
- Work collaboratively with district leadership in the development and review of long-range facilities plans.
- Assist in hiring and develop and implement an ongoing recruitment system for employees as needed.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or Deputy Superintendent and CFO.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Experience
Three (3) years of facilities management leadership experience
FLSA Status
Exemptand provide education to families as needed.
- Supervise the maintenance of the Bentonville Schools Athletic Facilities.
- Lead Athletic Department in fundraising and sponsorship efforts including community partnerships.
- Manage the athletic budgets, expenditures, and inventories
- Assist with scheduling of all facility use agreements to ensure district policy and procedures are followed.
- Oversight, administration, and implementation of athletic websites, mobile applications, and social media accounts (i.e. Twitter, Apps, Facebook, etc…)
- Supervise the administration of the athletic code book, athletic procedures, compliance, and education.
- Promote Bentonville Schools through good community relations specifically keeping the public aware and responsive to the athletic program.
- Supervise the hiring process of the athletic department staff and renewal of staff contracts.
- Liaison between the athletic booster club and athletic department.
- Work with building principals regarding the staffing and scheduling of the physical education department.
- Attend meetings and conferences as needed.
Additional Duties

Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with five (5) years related experience and/or training; or Master’s degree in education
