Vice President of Finance – Manufacturing/Production Company Florida
We’re working with a manufacturing/production company in Florida to find a Vice President of Finance. This opportunity will direct the day-to-day activities of the accounting management preparing the company’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices, internal controls, maintenance of financial records and preparation of financial budgets and reports. The key position provides the leadership and supervision of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Control, Financial Reporting, Cash Management, Payroll and other related functions. The Vice President of Finance will manage a small accounting team and report directly to the CEO.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements tools and ad-hoc reports to measure sales team performance, customer growth and share gain, customer and product profitability drive increased sales and profitability
- Conducts ongoing and ad-hoc productivity analysis across the company’s operations to identify areas for cost improvement and potential solutions.
- In collaboration with the operations teams develops productivity metrics and tools
- Creates, maintains and publishes effective KPI reporting to drive the right business decisions and accountability.
- Development, analysis and interpretation of financial and operating information and reports to determine profitability, performance against budget, forecast and other matters affecting the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company.
- Maintains the company’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly and annual financial statements on a timely basis.
- Coordinates, directs and prepares the Company’s budget and financial forecasts and analyzes report variances.
- Responsible for tax planning and compliance with federal, state and local corporate income, sales and use, payroll and other taxes.
- Evaluates and develops effective internal processes and financial controls for the organization.
- Substantial responsibility over inventory control including analysis of perpetual inventory, cycles counting, physical inventory procedures, inventory adjustments and all inventory variance accounts.
- Responsible for managing outside accounting firm relationships, including annual audit and tax returns.
- Provides risk management evaluation by reviewing company insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities and works with Human Resources Department to manage employee benefit programs.
- Develops, trains and holds team accountable for achieving the accounting department objectives and company goals.
A successful candidate will have/be:
· A demonstrated track record of leveraging FP&A to drive sales and profitability growth leveraging existing imperfect / incomplete information.
· Hands-on leader with strong analytical skills.
· The ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders including internal, board of directors, and external financial institutions.
· A willingness to engage with sales and operations beyond the spreadsheet.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a CPA or MBA required. Public accounting experience preferred.
- 7 or more years of financial management in a manufacturing or production type business.
- Advanced computer skills including extensive use of Excel and experience with manufacturing ERP systems. Ability to stitch together data from multiple sources and leveraging interim Excel solutions to drive the business forward.
- A working knowledge of accounting policies and procedures, banking and investment techniques, insurance, supplier relationships, credit and collection techniques, and other similar business skills.
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
- Tax planning experience required.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
