California Career Institute is a career school offering Vocational Nursing in addition to other Allied Health programs. Our campuses are located in Orange County/Anaheim and Los Angeles/Hawthorne, CA.
California Career Institute is looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, professional, qualified, and dedicated Theory and/or Clinical instructor to teach in the Vocational Nursing program. Please only reply if you meet the following requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current and active RN or LVN license in the state of California
- Didactic or Clinical Teaching experience is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an RN or LVN in the last five years.
- Must meet all regulatory and institution qualifications.
- Must meet the approval of the Nursing Board to hold the position.
- Computer literate and skilled.
- Teaching Course: (Certificate of Completion or School Transcript. If teaching, or College: (Copy of school transcript showing date degree conferred, or diploma verifying program completion. For documents from a foreign jurisdiction, equivalency certification by a valid credential evaluation service is required.)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Follow objectives of the clinical course syllabus as provided by CCI; prepare and implement daily course outline.
- Record and submit daily attendance to the Registrar and communicate potential concerns.
- Promote a positive learning environment in the clinical setting, and assist students individually upon request.
- Motivate and encourage students to attend class regularly and apply themselves to their course of study.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication using a variety of teaching methods.
- Participate in the school retention plan by maintaining a proactive and mentoring relationship with the students and contacting and providing help to absent students.
- Administer exams and issue grades objectively to reflect student performance.
- Maintain records on each student, such as grading and attendance, until grades are finalized on a modular basis.
- Ensure that all students are held accountable to CCI rules and regulations.
- Attend regularly scheduled faculty meetings as academic administration prescribed on campus.
- Recommend improvements in course design, materials, equipment, and facilities that may enhance students’ learning experiences and preparation for employment.
- Develop and implement an annual professional development plan to enhance career growth.
- Arrange field trips, class projects, guest speakers, etc., to promote hands-on learning and exposure to professional work environments. Instruct students in laboratory safety procedures if applicable.
- Participate, promote and attend school functions such as graduation ceremonies and in-service workshops.
- Participate in academic support programs and student professional associations when possible.
- Participate, promote and attend curriculum review meetings as requested by the academic administration on campus.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
