Job Summary
PACE Inc , an outdoor power equipment distributor based in Michigan, is looking for a Demo Specialist to cover the state of Georgia . The Demo Specialist will call on landscapers, public institutions and municipalities, and independent outdoor power equipment dealers to demonstrate and promote commercial lawn equipment
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates products and services to existing/potential dealers, along with end users that include cities, municipalities and large landscapers etc, and assists them in selecting equipment best suited to their needs.
- Establishes business relationships with prospective dealers in the assigned territory to generate new business.
- Maintains professional conduct and appearance through all interactions while representing PACE to customers, vendors, and dealers.
- Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature.
- Prioritizes time and activities by studying existing and potential sales volume of dealers..
- Recommends changes to management based on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and communicates the potential for new products and services.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational service and sales schools when offered; reviewing professional publications; and participating in applicable associations.
- Coordinates sales and support efforts with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
- Participates in trade shows and conventions, to include assisting with the set up and tear down of all equipment and materials.
- Adheres to state traffic laws and company vehicle policy involving the safe operation of truck, trailer, and demonstration equipment at all times.
- Ensures assigned PACE vehicles, trailers, and demo equipment are properly maintained and kept presentable at all times.
- Qualifications and Skills
- Competencies and Skills: Provide customer service, ability to meet sales goals and close a sale, ability to prospect, strong presentation skills, maintain client relationships, possess a motivation for sales, strong organizational and multitasking ability, resourceful, prioritizes work effectively, and has working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Suite programs.
- Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent, a minimum or two to five years of sales experience or equivalent coursework in a related educational field to include business, marketing, etc.
Preferred Education and experience: Previous outdoor power equipment sales experience with relatable product knowledge.
Other Requirements
- Travel: This position requires overnights and travel throughout their territory and outside states for meetings/conventions when necessary.
- *Available to work weekend/evening schedules to assist with dealer open houses and dealer shows which the dealers participate in.
***Offering a competitive salary of $ 60,000+ based on experience plus bonus opportunity. Truck, trailer, and laptop provided. Travel expenses paid plus $100 monthly phone allowance. Paid time off and full benefits offered.
This position requires the applicant to pass a background check and to have or obtain a DOT medical certificate. PACE Inc. will pay for the exam and provide the necessary form. Drivers License Required. Applicant required to occasionally lift up to 50 Ibs. Some overnight travel required.
