The 1 HOTEL HANALEI BAY has an opportunity for a service-minded Guest Services Manager to lead and inspire our great-natured service team. Our Guest Services Manager will train, supervise and mentor new hires, setting them up for success in the most productive ways. It’s a role in which you’ll be constantly interacting with guests, whether you’re welcoming them from across an ocean or just around the corner. And you’ll be teaching others to do the same, so leading by example is everything in this role.

Overview:

This individual needs to have a professional appearance and warm, accommodating confident, enthusiastic, motivating personality.
Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Responsible for managing the experience of the guest arrival and departure.
Responsible for setting and achieving goals for the Guest Services team. Including: Bellmen, Valet, Shuttle Drivers and House Car Drivers.
Team Coach: guide, and lead the Guest Services Team Measure, analyze, and report service satisfaction, online reputation, and quality assurance.
Maintain proper staffing levels for all operating departments according to hotels’ business levels.
Review with managers and staff the schedules on a weekly basis to ensure business needs and budgeted levels are being met.
Communicates with team members, both verbally and in writing, to answer questions and provide clear direction in advising and instructing staff in details of work, policies, and procedures.
Provides timely and real-time feedback to management and hourly associates on service and operational standards; including feedback on all levels of service and operational details.
Audit valet and self-parking revenues and implement strategies to boost parking revenues.
Manages relevant expenses and reviews daily consumption.
Maintain relationships with guests during and after their stays.
Maintains high visibility in public areas and front of the house and all guest areas all the time.
Intervenes in any guest/employee situation as needed to ensure the integrity of the property is maintained, guest satisfaction is achieved, and employee well-being is preserved.
Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
Maintain/ordering needed inventory such as valet tags, bellmen tags, gate remotes, etc.
Provides immediate assistance to guests as requested.
Provides services that surprise and delight customer satisfaction and retention.
Uphold product standards by doing daily rounds and communicating directly with department heads.
Acts as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
Ensures the security and confidentiality of guest and hotel information.
Proactively build relationships with guests to ensure satisfaction and increase retention.
Utilize effective selling skills to actively promote hotel services, retail, and special offerings while displaying an exceptional knowledge of products and services.
Receive guest concerns and determine proper course of action.
Maintain the highest professional standards of service, appearance, and behavior, and incorporate the Company Vision and Mission to our guests in day-to-day tasks.
Ensure guests needs are consistently met in a courteous and timely fashion.
No set schedule, weekends are working days, times are not set, and all depends on the operation needs.
Ability to handle all vendors billing timely.

Prepare employees’ schedules according to business forecast, payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements.
Maximize use of parking space to increase parking revenues.
Processes payroll and is responsible for scheduling in line with the monthly labor budget.
Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.
Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees.
Ensures employees are treated fairly and equitably.
Provides feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors.
Supervises employee’s ability to execute departmental and property emergency procedures.
Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process.
Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently

Qualifications:

About you...

Passionate about hotel operations and guest service with a minimum of 2 years of similar work experience.
A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus.
Advanced knowledgeable of hotel operations, a strong leader and a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
Excels at communication, both verbal and written.
Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Responsibilities
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
