Position Overview:
The Director of Worship and Creative Arts will oversee the planning and implementation of all weekend worship gatherings and all church wide events within E.B.C.’s multisite context, while working closely with the Senior Pastor in planning worship flow and ensure congregational alignment among multisite. The director will be responsible to provide leadership to Creative Arts Team (C.A.T.) and work with the Collaborative Preaching Team (C.P.T.) to ensure harmonization in between message and music. In collaboration with C.A.T. and C.P.T. teams, the director is responsible to create dynamic and engaging worship experiences and church wide events that allow people to encounter the presence of God in a spirit of excellence.

This position reports to the Senior Pastor.
Director Responsibilities
- Ensure all programs and services delivered maintain Scriptural integrity.
- Ensure the mission, vision, and values for E.B.C. are adhered to for all programming, teaching, and ministry functions.
- Protect and uphold the unity of the church in a multisite context.
- Ensure all ministry programs, roles and responsibilities support a multisite context.
- Work collaboratively with Director of Communications, Director of Multi-Media, Creative Arts Team, and Collaborative Preaching Team to ensure worship experiences are executed with excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in, but not limited to, staff meetings, retreats, all church functions, and teaching.
- Live a life that honors God in heart, actions, and relationships, with the goal of becoming more like Him, through a servant leadership model
- Responsible for systems and processes related to worship services in all venues
- Engage lay leadership with the Worship, Belong, Serve and Go model of ministry
- Working with the Senior Pastor and C.P.T. to map out annual preaching calendar.
- Support and implement the long-term vision to add multisite campuses
- Serve on executive leadership teams, work groups, and carry out other responsibilities as assigned by executive team or Sr. Pastor
- Ensure the coordinator of other service elements and special features (child dedication, global missions, communion, baptism, special national holidays, etc.).
- Responsible for coordination and implementation of our Sunday gatherings, set design and creative aspects of the preaching series development.
- Leads weekly service walkthrough, updating and communicating any walkthrough changes to key leaders.
- Liaison with A/V Coordinator and tech team to ensure sound equipment for service elements and participants is ready.
- Ensure the weekly set up of all worship and tech rehearsals.
- Identify, recruit, and develop masterful key ministry leaders for site teams and initiatives (i.e., musicians, directors, and site leaders.)
- Actively recruit, raise up and mentor new worship volunteers and leaders for Sunday gatherings and for E.B.C. ministry programs.
- Plan, execute, and oversee ministry initiatives that provide opportunities for individuals, ministry groups and the surrounding community to connect, thrive and commit.
- Lead ministry teams in the planning and implementation of church wide events including: all preparatory rehearsals for vocalist, singing aggregations, musicians; and inclusive of expressive arts units. Attend all staff meetings and facilitate weekly meetings with Worship and Arts Division.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Ensure weekly electronic music binders are prepared and ready for rehearsal.
- Ensure projection worship song slides are uploaded and available of multi-media coordinator for worship experiences at each site.
- Coordinate with C.A.T. and other team members in the development of weekly worship script for all worship experiences.
- Coordinate with team members when needed in stage design planning, construction, and delivery. This will be done in collaboration with the lead team, and Director of Communications and A/V Coordinator.
- Ensure site directors, choir directors, and lead worshippers are facilitating weekly rehearsals.
- Ensure proper planning, preparation, and performance of all musically based and influenced artistic expressions within a worship experience.
Schedule:
This is a full-time position with required flexible evenings and weekends.
Experience and Education:
Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Music, Fine Arts, or Theology, along with a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in worship leadership, artistic direction, or a related role within a faith based community. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a deep understanding of worship theology, and ability to collaborate effectively with pastoral leadership, staff, and volunteers.

Budget: Be a good steward
Responsible for annual Worship and Creative Arts budget creation and implementation in conjunction with their supervisor and their teams. The Director of Worship and Creative Arts ensures that ministry spending is in line with all budget requirements and will notify supervisor in a reasonable time frame if any budget issues arise.
Collaboration: Working together
We deeply value teamwork and strive to support one another across our ministry areas and sites. You will work under the direction of your supervisor to provide support to other areas of ministry as assigned. When executed properly we believe that the collaboration enhances participation and productivity. Successful collaboration requires a mindset shift from “me” to “we”.

Decision Making: Making the calls that count
We believe decision making is best done in a team environment, but there will be times when rapid critical decisions will have to be made. The Director of Worship and Creative Arts will need to be comfortable in either circumstance. The position will require a high-level of decision- making skill to ensure the most effective decisions are made, that people impacted by decisions feel included in the process, and decisions are seen as being clear and transparent. The Director of Worship and Creative Arts will be responsible to ensure that all decisions are consistent with E.B.C.’s mission, vision, values, and purposes.
Leadership: Serving your team and ministry
Effective leadership skills are vital to this position. Building and leading teams of people requires the ability to select the right people, to build consensus, to delegate, to enable and encourage teams to get the job done, and to celebrate successes. Providing good direction also involves working effectively with other ministry leaders, having a servant attitude, providing, and communicating specific plans and materials, and shaping those plans and materials into effective programs. The Director of Worship and Creative Arts will look for and act on opportunities for development and mentorship including volunteer recruitment, team building, and training. Foreword thinking, and strategic planning is essential for success in our multisite ministry context.
Growth: Avoid stagnation
We believe that anything that cease to grow will plateau and eventually experience decline. We believe that growth must first start within a leader and cascade to those that he/she is leading. It is expected that the Director of Worship and Creative Arts will be intentional in their personal and professional growth by participating in an array of different educational experiences that will sharpen their leadership skills. Additionally, it is expected of the Director of Worship and Creative Arts provide leadership training opportunities for the entire team that they lead. The Director of Worship and Arts must develop the leaders around them.
Growth must also take place within each unit of the Worship and Arts Division. Director of Worship and Arts must be intentional in measuring and monitoring growth within each unit and work collaboratively with team members to strategize creatives ways retain, reclaim, and reproduce members as to maintain an agreed upon responsible rate of growth.
