Your Role at Cabot:

Cabot has an exciting opportunity for Warehouse, Packaging, Shipping (WPS) Operators to ensure the proper operation of all the packaging systems and ancillary equipment, proper filling of bags, loading, sampling, moving railcars, and filling bulk trucks. Will also inspect, monitor, and perform minor maintenance on equipment.

We are seeking WPS Operators who will work on-site at the Tuscola, IL plant.

How You Will Make an Impact:

In this role, your primary duty will be to ensure proper packaging/bagging, storing, labeling, loading and unloading of the final products. This role requires a safety mind-set, self-motivated person with a positive attitude, a ton of good energy, effective time management, organization, and recordkeeping skills. A successful candidate will be someone who can:

Models Cabot values of integrity, respect, excellence, and responsibility. Interacts professionally with site personnel, visitors, contractors, and individuals at all levels of the Cabot organization. Follows work instructions, procedures, and policies.
Work different shift schedules and overtime when required, able to respond to call outs, as well attending required safety training (off-shift). Currently, working 12 hour rotating shifts which include alternating between working 2 weeks days and 2 weeks nights; 5:30 to 5:30.
Move railcars with switch engineer (trackmobile).
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot the process.
Collect final product samples for quality control testing.
Actively supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System and ISO Management Systems in line with the requirements of the RC14001® and ISO9001 technical specification.

What You Will Bring to Cabot:

High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred industrial or chemical manufacturing experience.
Technical Excellence. Knowledge of troubleshooting, problem solving, process control, and process improvements. Ensures compliance with all work instructions, procedures, policies, standards, regulations, and industry best practices (OSHA, RC14001, ISO 9001, PSM). Safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, aerial work platforms, and switch engine (trackmobile).
Communication Skills. Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communications that are timely, concise, clear, and relevant.
Computers. Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Guide Results. Accurate and consistent in performing tasks. General mechanical aptitude.
Works Safely. Strictly follows and complies with all SH&E procedures, standards and regulations and constantly strives for Excellence in the fields of sustainability and Safety, Health, and preservation of the Environment. Familiar with topics such as Process Safety Management (PSM), safe work permitting, lockout/tagout, emergency response, and hazard recognition.
