As the Supply Chain Manager this position plays a crucial role in supporting our growing spice manufacturing and fulfillment facility. Reporting to our VP of Operations, this individual will be responsible for purchasing all food and packaging materials, sourcing new vendors, managing vendor relationships, and negotiating supply and pricing to ensure best-in-class pricing while supporting quality and ROI initiatives. This individual is also accountable for maintaining the continuity of supply for production. A successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of procurement and have the ability to make quick, yet data-driven decisions that drive the company’s growth strategy.
Responsibilities:

Lead category strategy, sourcing & vendor negotiations, in collaboration with Product and QFS. End execute risk management strategy for various raw food and packaging materials

Issue and manage purchase orders to support raw materials & packaging for production and fulfillment. Approve final invoices and reconcile discrepancies at month end

Work closely with planning teams to maintain plant production schedules, ensuring that materials are delivered on-time and in-full

Develop sourcing strategies to support the company's quality, cost goals, and business growth objectives. Lead RFPs for new and current supplier categories

Monitor plant usage patterns and inventory to formulate buying strategies based on past usage and future forecasts

Produce ingredient and commodity price forecasts for all the business and monitor that price risk against budgeted line-item prices and usage, including entering POs to suppliers for all components

Own and implement policies, procedures and communications for our co-packers/ contract management partnerships including performance reporting and pricing

Collaborate with warehouse and finance to report on excess and obsolete raw components, SKU and supplies, while also working on resolution of issues

Support product development and new product launches. Work with Product to bring in samples and source new ingredients, ensuring new suppliers have supporting regulatory documentation and capacity to support future demand

Manage, develop and deploy supplier scorecard including, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting

Conduct supplier evaluations and recommend both the main suppliers and secondary suppliers for all raw components

Work in collaboration with the company's Quality Department to gather necessary supplier documentation relevant to food safety, quality and foreign supplier verification program (FSVP)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred

Minimum 5-7+ years of experience in supply chain and purchasing, food and packaging experience a plus

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven negotiation skills

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects at one time

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

Proficient with Google Suite or related software

Ability to be onsite at our facility in Elk Grove Village, IL at least 3 days/week
