The majority of work in this position will be cleaning, scrubbing, shampooing and waxing large areas of floors.
Full time only / Benefit Eligible (AETNA) / Medical, Dental, Vision - Benefits begin on the 1st of every month after your start date.
$1000 Sign-On Bonus for Full Time Only - Paid over a period of 12 months - $200 on your first paycheck, $400 on your 6-month work anniversary, and $400 on your 1-year work anniversary.
Environmental* Services staff members receive $2.00 per hour shift differential pay during the weekend shifts only beginning Saturday at 5am thru Sunday at midnight for all full-time and part-time positions.*
Referral Bonus Available / $600 per referral, no limit / $150 upon referral hire and every 90 days the staff member and applicant are employed with the final payout on the 1-year* work anniversary of the *applicant.
Knowledge of iPad Preferred.

This job requires you to work indoors and outdoors and working with commercial janitorial cleaning equipment (such as floor scrubbers and high-speed* buffers) and doing heavy cleaning duties.*

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, performs routine manual tasks in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance of our facility.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleans garden and assisted living homes, apartments, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and any other assigned areas by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing; to include light upholstery cleaning.
Cleaning of Spa Rooms and Equipment except the inside of the Tub and that portion of the Transfer Chair inside the tub when being used.
Operates a variety of floor care equipment to include auto scrubber, carpet extractor, steam cleaner and wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas and floors.
Assists on floor maintenance crew whose work involves the principal responsibility for stripping, buffing, burnishing, polishing and waxing floors with industrial grade machinery.
Ability to use proper/correct dilutions of cleaning agent as instructed by the manufacturer.
Empties and decontaminates trash containers. Disposes of infectious waste when necessary.
Assists as needed on set-up crew with principal responsibilities for setting up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, auctions or other occasions.
Replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand cleaner/soap.
Keeps storage areas well stocked, clean, and organized.
Reports building or equipment repairs to the Facilities department.
Performs many varied custodial tasks related to the maintenance of the facility.
Performs custodial related duties required to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions.
Full understanding of residents’ rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Is responsible for promptly reporting to the Director of Health and Residential Services or President/CEO incidents or evidence of resident abuse or a violation of residents’ rights.
Protects and promotes resident rights, including confidentially, privacy, dignity, and freedom from abuse.
Maintains the comfort, privacy, confidentiality and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services. Interacts with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.
Maintains confidentiality for residents to meet HIPAA guidelines.
Ensures organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as federal, state, and local regulations are met and followed.
Assists in maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment. Reports all deficiencies to the appropriate person, such as equipment problems, need for repair or special needs of residents.
Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures without causing harm or risk to self, others or property.
Has ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
Attends and participates in training activities, meetings, and seminars as required.
Exhibits qualities of a team player, interacts courteously and appropriately, maintains a positive attitude. Addresses problems and conflicts in a professional and respectful manner.
May be required to operate/drive a golf cart for the purpose of transporting supplies around campus as needed. This may also include transporting employees when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Has knowledge of custodial, housekeeping, laundry operations, and floor care.
Is organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.
Preferably has knowledge on using iPad. Training will be provided.
Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices.
Maintain competency in the position and knowledge of trade/industry advances and new technologies.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent REQUIRED
Preferably has one year of experience in custodial, housekeeping, food service or other related work.
Must have one year experience in floor care to include scrubbing, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet extracting.
Licenses and Certifications:
Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or can apply for one within 20 days of hire.
If the above driving duties apply, has current, valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks’ insurance carrier.
Communication Skills:
Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of staff, residents, and guests.
Demonstrates excellent customer service etiquette with all levels of staff residents, and guests.
Has ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
