Full Time Teaching Hospitalist/Flushing Hospital Medical Center.

Full Time Teaching Hospitalist/Flushing Hospital Medical Center

Full-time opportunity for an internal medicine teaching hospitalist for the resident teaching service at Flushing Hospital Medical Center. Supervise and teach the IM residents and p;roviding medica carel to our patients.

Position includes admitting and continuing care of adult inpatients, teaching and supervision of residents, precepting of medical students, participation in quality improvement and research, and other activities of the Department.

Schedule is Monday through Friday, with evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis. Successful candidates will have excellent patient care and management skills, ability to work in a diverse environment, demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching and evidence-based medicine, and serve as a role model and mentor for trainees. Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine is required.

Flushing Hospital Medical Center is a 293 bed community teaching hospital located in the ethnically and socioeconomically diverse borough of Queens, New York. Flushing is a vibrant family-friendly community.

Nearly 44,000 visits annually are provided by the Emergency Department and more than 39,000 visits annually are logged in the NCQA certified Patient Centered Medical Home on-site Ambulatory Care Center. The Internal Medicine Residency Program provides training for 60 residents including a preliminary year track. The program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education with a 100% board passing rate.
